The women are after me key G flat JP
I’m looking out at the rain comin’ down
looking down at my hands They’re all blistered and brown
At home I’ve got a chair I’ve got a record machine
There’s a can of cold beer and a pan of hot beans
But I can’t go home I’ve too much to do
I’ve got all these different things to do but I’m thinkin’ of you
My van’s full of stuff right up to the top
Got to make it to the tip just can’t stop
CHORUS The women are after me but its not because I’m cute
They just wont leave me alone
They got the right to rule coz they got all the loot
And there’s some things they just can’t do on their own
I grab a quick bite to eat coz can’t slow down
Still got calls to make in this dirty old town
I got a list of jobs that just won’t wait
Got fences to fix and I cant be late
CH The women are after me …..
BR Cos I found out many years ago
you can’t keep a woman if you got no dough
You’ll lose your woman to a richer man
Even though you work as hard as you can
Nothing is simple money is tight
Works hard to find most of it is shite
My phone rings again something I cant say no
Have to take the pain just gotta go
CH
Composition Notes
In the style of an American Country song I composed this sitting in my van because I at the time was working as a gardener/handyman predominantly for women customers at the time. Not glamorous and pretty frustrating.
